Kmart has reopened its location in Dunedin after closing its doors in 2020 due to earthquake risk concerns.

The 5000sqm store is described as the brand’s largest Kmart in Aotearoa and features free on-site parking, bike racks, street parking, and click-and-collect options.

The location also marks the brand’s 27th store in New Zealand.

According to local sources, on the day of the store’s debut, about 30 individuals braved the cold to queue outside the Andersons Bay Rd store.

Kmart Group’s trans-Tasman earnings surged 26.5 per cent to $601 million earlier this year after a 5 per cent increase in sales to $6.08 billion.
