LK hits 40

Liquor kingLiqour King (LK) has opened its 40th and largest store in Queenstown.

The LK Queenstown opening follows the Stonefields launch in Auckland last year, as well as refurbishments in seven other stores, including LK Buckhams at Arthurs Point, Queenstown, LK Paeroa (previously a Golddiggers), LK Rotorua and LK Hornby in Christchurch.

LK’s development plans are ongoing, with additional store refurbishments planned around the country and a stronger focus on digital platforms to sell directly to the market. This includes an innovative new website to be launched later this year.

ICatering to the tourist market the new store stocks more than 25 Central Otago producers and four local craft beers. Stocked all year round by bottle and monthly feature beers, customers can top up on tap their store-bought, two litre, refillable glass siphons.

Regular tastings with winemakers will be held instore and a growing LK Craft Beer Club add to the vibrancy of the new space, which has attracted record sales since its opening.

Justine Bamber, store manager, said the central location of the store and its drive through option has made it popular.
