Electronics retailer JB HiFi reported strong sales for the first quarter of fiscal 2026, with New Zealand emerging as the standout performer, posting a 39.3 per cent year-on-year increase.

Comparable sales in New Zealand climbed 24.3 per cent, a sharp acceleration from 2.7 per cent in the same period last year.

In Australia, JB HiFi’s sales rose 6 per cent, while comparable sales increased 5 per cent. Sister brand The Good Guys saw more modest growth, with total sales up 2.5 per cent and comparable sales up 2.4 per cent.

The group’s E&S business reported sales growth of 4.1 per cent and comparable sales growth of 0.7 per cent.

JB HiFi said the results were consistent with expectations.

“Q1 for next fiscal year’s sales are in line with the group’s expectations as we enter the important Q2 trading period,” it said.

JB HiFi will release its full half-year results early next year.
