Cooks Coffee says it achieved higher sales in the 13 weeks to December 29, thanks to better performance in the UK and Ireland.

The group’s systemwide cafe sales surged 32.4 per cent during the period, as UK sales soared 36.5 per cent and Ireland sales climbed 23.9 per cent.

As of December 31, Cooks Coffee’s store count stood at 87, up from 71 in the prior year.

The company expects to open more than six outlets in the current financial year.

“As previously reported, the pipeline of new stores is solid, and the company expects that it will continue to grow the number of Esquires outlets operating in the UK and Ireland by the end of March 2025, with over 100 stores operating by the end of 2025,” said Keith Jackson, Cooks Coffee executive chairman.

“Given the strong trading momentum in the business, we remain confident about the future prospects of the group and view the future with optimism.”

Last month, Cooks Coffee said its Esquires business will operate and manage four Dairygold’s cafes within its Co-op Superstores in Ireland under an agreement with an initial period of 10 years.
