Merivale mall gets $10 million upgrade

Merivale MallMerivale Mall in Christchurch will receive a $10 million upgrade under an 18-month transformation plan.

The centre will receive upgraded amenities, common space and lighting, while store fronts and interiors will be given “fresh and modern refits”.

Centre manager Nicola Dolan said the development will refresh the centre.

“We have been a hub of the Merivale community and will remain close to its roots in both design and spirit – just refreshed, tempting and even more inviting,” she said.

“The centre is evolving to meet more sophisticated consumer demand and introduce the kinds of trends we’ve started to observe in retail overseas. At a local level, these changes are coming at the perfect time, as Christchurch continues to transform and the population grows in the surrounding suburbs.”

The mall has 40 plus stores already, including designer boutiques and lifestyle outlets, anchored by FreshChoice, which will also upgrade.

“We are excited to be bringing a modern new look to Merivale Mall with some fantastic new features for our community.

“We want to take our customers on an improved shopping journey, from the farmer’s market experience, to an extensive deli-kitchen offer, gourmet foods with a focus on local and artisan and a contemporary everyday florist.” as part of the refurbishment,” Fresh Choice owner Craig Grant said.
