New Zealand children’s wear brand Nature Baby has moved to a larger store in Te Aro, Wellington, replacing its Jessie Street location, which opened in 2020.
“Wellington has been home to a Nature Baby store for more than six years, and its families have grown up with us,” said founder and CEO Jacob Faull.
“This new space is our way of giving something back – a place that feels generous, useful and woven into the neighbourhood.”
The new 160sqm store is nearly twice the size of its former 139sqm Jessie Street location and features a dedicated community space with a kitchen, designed as a place where local families can “pause, gather and connect”.
A large mobile hangs from the double-height ceiling, with hand-drawn shapes inspired by Wellington’s landscape and native birds. Faull designed the installation, giving the space a local feel.
Nature Baby also operates stores in Auckland’s Newmarket and Grey Lynn neighbourhoods, as well as Sydney’s Paddington, Balmain, and Mosman suburbs.
The brand says it favours neighbourhood locations that families can easily visit as part of their daily routines, with stores designed to feel welcoming and practical.
“We have loved being part of Te Aro, so staying in the neighbourhood mattered to us. Moving around the corner lets us do more for the families who already know us, and meet many more who don’t yet,” Faull added.
