Kitchen Things stores have reopened for clearance sales after the company entered receivership last month.

Grant Thornton, the appointed receivers, have completed their stocktake of the remaining products and all stores, except those in Dunedin and Hamilton, reopened last week to sell all remaining products.

Customers will be able to purchase big-name brands at heavily discounted prices on an as-is, where-is basis, with no warranties or guarantees provided by Kitchen Things.

The stores will accept only Eftpos and bank transfers, and will remain open to enable a going-concern sale or until most stock has been cleared.

“The sale includes stock not already allocated to preexisting customers affected by the receivership,” said receiver Stephen Keen from Grant Thornton New Zealand.

“And, while people have the opportunity to get some bargains, they need to be acutely aware typical warranties and guarantees won’t apply to their purchases, and refunds, returns, and exchanges also aren’t available.”
