Foodstuffs North Island has secured approval for its $100 million Pak’nSave supermarket in Takapuna, following its opening in Highland Park earlier this year.
Spanning 6461sqm and located on Auckland’s North Shore, the Takapuna supermarket will feature a raised ground car park with retail and storage services situated above due to its unfavourable site conditions, which include being in a floodplain.
“This is a thoughtfully designed development that responds to the site’s constraints, while making sure we can deliver a safe and welcoming shopping experience,” said Lindsay Rowles, Foodstuffs North Island’s GM.
“Large vacant sites in this area are rare, and this is a great opportunity to create a modern, efficient store that helps more people access New Zealand’s most trusted supermarket brand and our commitment to low grocery prices.”
The Takapuna Pak’nSave project is scheduled to be completed in 2029 and is expected to be the nation’s largest supermarket once open.
