New Zealand fashion designer Rory William Docherty debuted at the Australian Fashion Week, showcasing the latest collection named Love Collateral at Carriageworks in Sydney.
Docherty presented 35 looks from his Resort collection featuring oversized coats, sharp tailoring, soft merino layers and quirky accessories, prioritising natural materials.
The designer imprinted his own hand-drawn paintings of crushed paper throughout his silk, cotton, and silk organza styles.
“This collection is a continuation of my previous designs. Guests will notice we have repurposed old off cuts from previous designs and fabrications, repurposed and given a new life on these reimagined designs,” said Docherty.
“Our “crushes” are a big focus in this resort collection. It is sculptural, draws on inspiration from my surroundings and it’s been incredible to see them come to life through this work. Showcasing it at Australian Fashion Week is the added bonus.”
Docherty made his debut solo show at New Zealand Fashion Week last August.
Rory William Docherty Resort ’25 collection will be available to purchase starting in October at
selected stockists.
