The Warehouse Group is expanding its fresh produce range to a third of its stores nationwide, providing consumers with what it bills as more affordable food options to mainstream supermarkets.
“Offering affordable fresh fruit and veggies in a third of our stores is another way we’re helping Kiwis in a cost-of-living crisis. Fresh fruit and vegetables are essential and everyone should be able to access them at an affordable price,” The Warehouse Group CEO Nick Grayston said.
From 10 stores, the company now has 32 stores offering fresh produce. The additional stores are Ashburton, Spreydon-Barrington (Christchurch), Blenheim, Hornby (Christchurch), Masterton, Porirua, Pukekohe, Richmond, Te Awamutu, and Tory St (Wellington).
Seasonal fresh produce such as carrots, onions, potatoes, apples, bananas, mandarins, capsicum, avocados, kumara, and kiwifruit, are among those that will be offered.
The company said it will review the range weekly to ensure freshness and variety.
In addition, The Warehouse Group will sell a 12-pack free-range eggs for $7 and colony eggs for $5.
