Sportswear giant Nike is set to launch a new store in Auckland, marking the brand’s largest location in New Zealand.

Located inside the upcoming shopping experience Manawa Bay, the store will span 1500sqm and offer a full range of products as well as premium experiences and services.

“Retailers, like Nike, can also see the value here, the chance to be part of a centre that’s aiming to reflect the needs and expectations of our community,” said Auckland Airport’s chief commercial officer Mark Thomson.

Manawa Bay, a 24,000sqm outlet shopping mall being created on Auckland Airport land’s waterfront, is scheduled to open in the second half of this year. Last August, Auckland Airport revealed some of the tenants who would be settling into the $200 million+ premium outlet shopping area.

Bendon, Macpac, Canterbury, Ariat, Tech Pro, Mountain Warehouse, and Timeless Watches are among the new tenants who have confirmed their presence at the mall.

They join previously announced Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Converse & Hurley, Lorna Jane, The Beauty Boutique, Coach, Puma, Fila, Under Armour, and Flo & Frankie, as well as three confirmed brands with their first New Zealand outlet stores: Kate Spade, Swarovski, and Helly Hansen.

“The leasing progress has been going really well and we’re thrilled with the calibre of tenants signing up,” Thomson said.

“We have more than 70 per cent NLA of the centre now in signed Heads of Terms or Agreements to Lease. There really is nothing like Manawa Bay in New Zealand yet – and we can’t wait to open our doors to the public later this year.”
