Kate Spade heads tenancy list for Auckland Airport’s outlet mall Mānawa Bay

Auckland Airport has unveiled some of the tenants who will be settling down at the $200-million-plus premium outlet shopping centre, Mānawa Bay

The centre is attracting a diverse range of businesses including Kate Spade, Coach, Fila, Under Armour, Puma, and Flo & Frankie.

“Brands are gaining access to what will be New Zealand’s first purpose-built outlet shopping centre – designed and created based on what retailers require to offer the best experience possible to their customers,” said commercial chief Mark Thomson.

Mānawa Bay – a 24,000sqm outlet shopping centre area being developed on the waterfront of Auckland Airport land, is set to open in the second half of next year. Auckland Airport is also in talks with more than 80 potential tenants for the facility, with more than 50 per cent of the net lettable area now under contract.

The shopping mall will host more than 100 retail brands, with stores ranging in size from 50sqm to 1500sqm.

“We have more than 1400 customer car park spaces directly in front of the centre, along with a dedicated pick-up and drop-off areas for ride-share services, taxis and buses,” Thomson added.

According to Auckland Airport, Mānawa Bay will take advantage of its water-facing location by embracing open spaces in the eating area, with 13 food and beverage options and an easy-to-navigate figure-of-eight layout for the centre.
