Woolworths has launched a local version of its Australian Everyday Rewards program in New Zealand.
Customers who sign up this month will receive 1000 Everyday Rewards points without spending.
The new loyalty program replaces the previous Countdown-branded Onecard.
Under the new scheme, customers will receive a $15 Rewards voucher every time they reach 2000 Everyday Rewards points and have the option to redeem at Woolworths supermarkets or BP.
Woolworths has also partnered with ASB Bank and Vineonline for the program, with negotiations ongoing with further partners.
“Members can earn up to 4000 points – the equivalent of $30 of rewards vouchers – simply by downloading and signing into the Everyday Rewards app and linking to their ASB Visa Rewards credit card, BPme and Vineonline,” said Mark Wolfenden, director of digital and loyalty at Woolworths New Zealand.
The Everyday Rewards app features personalised Boost offers, a special member pricing on various items.
“If members take advantage of the offers tailored specially for them, they could be earning rewards over twice as fast as our previous program,” said Wolfenden.
Woolworths urges customers to drop their defunct Onecards at the collection box located at the customer service desk of all its supermarkets nationwide.
In partnership with TerraCycle, the old cards will be recycled into new products such as outdoor furniture and plastic shipping pallets.
Existing OneCards points and vouchers will automatically be transferred to the new Everyday Rewards accounts.
