Baby Bunting, the specialty nursery and baby supplies retailer, plans to establish its first store in the South Island, which will be the brand’s largest store in Aotearoa.

The launch is part of the company’s aim to build three more locations in New Zealand by the end of this year, and it comes just over a year after Baby Bunting opened its first retail store in New Zealand in Albany, Auckland.

The biggest store will be located in Christchurch and will span 2095sqm, as well as offer a wide range of more than 7000 product lines. The location is scheduled to open on December 9.

In addition, the other two stores will be in Auckland’s Manukau and Sylvia Park, which are planned to open on November 11 and December 2.

“We have had an incredible response from Kiwis to our first retail store in Albany, so we’re excited to be expanding our presence in New Zealand, supporting more Kiwi parents, extending our relationships with local suppliers and creating jobs,” said Baby Bunting CEO Mark Teperson.

This expansion is part of Baby Bunting’s goal of opening 10 stores around New Zealand, providing Kiwi parents with “a unique and comprehensive retail experience” that suits the demands of local customers.

The company already has a 5000sqm warehouse in Auckland to facilitate local online order fulfilment, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to the New Zealand market.
