Patagonia to open first stand alone New Zealand store

Outdoor apparel brand Patagonia is set to open its first New Zealand flagship store in Queenstown.

In a LinkedIn post, the country director for Patagonia ANZ, Dane O’Shanassy, said New Zealand is “world-renowned” as a place of immense natural beauty and a bucket list of “dream adventures”.

“Patagonia has been doing business with great partners in New Zealand over many years, and this year, I am excited to launch our very first retail store in Queenstown.

“This store will provide us with a richer way to support local, grassroots environmental groups, meet and play with new sports mates in the snow, on the trail and along the rivers, and begin our journey as an unconventional business in Aotearoa.”

The new store comes several years after O’Shanassy first discussed plans for its own stores in the country.
