The Wellington-based coffee company, Havana Coffee Works Roastery, has expanded into Auckland, opening its doors at a new 756sqm space at Georges Bay Rd in Parnell.

The chain’s parent company, Lion, said it invested around $2 million into Havana Coffee Works Roastery Parnell, including a roastery, logistics, servicing and training hub, an espresso bar and 19 staff. The store features a custom Stephen Templer mural together with upcycled and repurposed furniture.

“Havana’s Wellington HQ remains iconic, but with limited space, capital investment in a second location was the logical decision,” said Lee Brown, GM at Havana Coffee Works. “The new site enables us to significantly increase production capacity to meet growing demand.”

Brown said the Auckland location will improve the chain’s ability to be able to support and service a wider range of customers in more locations, as well as mitigate risk.

“Our Auckland Roastery also features an iconic Loring S70 Roaster, which produces 70 per cent fewer carbon emissions, to replicate the same high-quality single-origin coffee and blends as in Wellington,” Brown added.
