Former Gentle Monster CEO dips back into eyewear Won Lee, former US CEO and creative director of South Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster, is dipping back into eyewear with his new company, X8. Lee, who resigned from his role at Gentle Monster in 2019, will debut a line of genderless sunglasses this month, Business of Fashion reported.  “We did not define ourselves [as an] eyewear company – we are not [that],” Lee told Business of Fashion. “Is this only one project or [will we] keep continuing and making [more sunglasses]? Lee held the top position at Gentle Monster US for nearly seven years, driving the company to sales into the hundreds of millions.  San Churro appoints Gelatissimo GM to CEO role  San Churro has announced Kerri Wane, former Gelatissimo general manager of international and USA, as its new CEO. Wane, who until recently was leading the international growth strategy for the ice-cream company, will commence her San Churro role on September 27 and will return to Melbourne at the earliest opportunity. San Churro founder Giro Maurici, who has been CEO since 2017, steps into a new role as managing director of the business.  “It is with much excitement that I announce the appointment of Kerri Wane as my successor to the role of CEO of San Churro,” Maurici said. “Kerri brings a wide and unique range of experience that qualifies her for the role: spending time as a multi-unit franchise partner with Domino’s and growing through a variety of senior franchising, retail and QSR [quick service restaurant] leadership roles in Australia and India, with brands such as Domino’s, Mad Mex and Gelatissimo, to name just a few.” Maurici will support Wane during a transition period before officially moving into the MD position, where he will look towards the company’s “bigger picture growth ambitions”.  “We are at a pivotal time in the business; we see great opportunity to take our brand to the next level, but ensuring we do this in a way that doesn’t lose focus on the existing business is paramount.
