The pandemic and frequent lockdowns have been challenging for every retailer – but Anna Hiatt, founder of Wanaka company Hiatt & Co, turned the restrictions into an opportunity, buy selling her Mighty Mini Microgreens edible garden kits online. Crafted for beginners, each kit has everything users need – except the pots – to grow microgreens in their own homes. “Gardening can feel overwhelming,” said Hiatt. “There is so much information out there that sometimes people don’t
on’t even know where to begin. I want to make growing your produce simple and fun.”

Hiatt says launching the company stemmed from a life-long passion for gardening and floral design and she wants to help people grow their produce from wherever they are.
“Whether they are based in an apartment, renting, or living in their own homes, there are always ways to use whatever space people have to grow edibles. My background in floral design means I love to create gardens that not only produce beautiful, fresh food, but also look beautiful,” Anna says.
Hiatt says all orders are packaged with strict hygiene procedures, and the whole process is contactless – including payment and delivery.
