Chemist Warehouse to open 10 stores in New Zealand this year

Discount pharmacy Chemist Warehouse will open its first store in South Island at the South City Shopping Centre in Christchurch in April with plans to open 10 more stores across New Zealand this year.

Azman Haroon, Chemist Warehouse managing director, said the Australian discount retailer, which now has 12 stores in Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga, has been well received in New Zealand that they are looking forward to open 10 more stores this year.

“We are very excited to be opening our first store in the beautiful city of Christchurch,” Haroon said. “We identified South City as the ideal location for our first store in the South Island – it’s strategically positioned to cater for a wide catchment of residents and city workers with increasing numbers of people relocating in the central city.”

The new South Island store will cover more than 1000sqm and will offer free prescriptions and discounted prices across big brand fragrances, cosmetics, vitamins and a wide variety of products.

Chemist Warehouse will join other retailers that have recently opened its doors in South City including The Warehouse, Whitcoulls, Paper Plus, McDonalds and Flight Centre.
