Sneaker giant Nike has announced the departure of two senior executives in as many days, as reports of inappropriate behaviour swirl. 

Nike’s brand president Trevor Edwards will retire from the company in August, and vice president and general manager of global categories Jayme Martin was asked to resign effective immediately.

Edwards has been asked to stay on as a consultant to company chair and CEO Mark Parker until his retirement as Nike transitions its organisational structure.

The announcement that Martin would be leaving came a day after the news of Edward’s departure.

The Wall Street Journal published reports of complaints about Martin last Friday, but made no mention of Edwards.

“I’d like to thank Trevor for the important role he has played for 25 years and for his significant contributions,” Parker said. “He has helped us grow and strengthen our brand on a global scale.”

Nike also looked to sure up confidence, announcing that Parker will stay on as chairman, president and CEO beyond 2020.

Elliott Hill, former president of Nike Geographies, will take on the new role as president of Consumer and Marketplace. He will be responsible for Marketing, Geographies, Nike Direct and Global Sales.

Michael Spillane will continue to lead all Categories, Design, Product and Merchandising. In the new structure, both Hill and Spillane will report directly to Parker.
