Pandora reports strong sales in Australia

PandoraPandora Jewelry announced its Australian revenue grew by 39.5 per cent in 2015 driven by their increasing sales of charms and bracelets, and a strong performance in the rings category.

The Copenhagen-based retailer’s Australian sales rose to $240.62 million in 2015 with a global revenue of $3.58 billion.

Pandora president in Australia and New Zealand, Brien Winther, said the results “demonstrate that there is continued strong demand for Pandora in Australia.”

With the new results, Pandora has now had 10 consecutive quarters of same store sales growth of over 20 per cent.

“We believe the current growth will soften somewhat in 2016, however we still expect to exceed 10 per cent this year,” Winther said.

Winther revealed successful new launches, like the introduction of the Pandora Disney Jewellery Collection, helped fuel continued strong sales-out growth in Australia.

With the company’s “commitment to strengthen the branded store network,” a net total of five to 10 concept stores are expected to be added annually in Australia until 2018.

Revenue in Australia and New Zealand is expected to increase more than 30 per cent from 2015 to 2018.

Winther said the company launches new products seven times a year to ensure “freshness” in their stores year round.
