Kiwi big guy now answered for

Johnny BiggRetail Apparel Group, creator of Tarocash, y.d., Connor and Rockwear, has launched its latest menswear brand Johnny Bigg by Tarocash into the New Zealand online retail market. Recognising the bigger and taller guy’s desire to be well dressed, Johnny Bigg has simplified shopping for him by offering on-trend, affordable and fashionable apparel.

Launched initially in Australia as an online store in September 2014, the brand has grown to now offer both online and seven bricks and mortar stores.

“The entrance of Johnny Bigg into NZ signals a market first, providing a reliable destination for the big and tall guy to shop comfortably whilst striking the perfect balance between styles that these guys have always wanted to wear and the correct fit they have been looking for, while delivering on comfort,“ says Johnny Bigg GM, Julian Hayman.

“Launching into the NZ market with the spring/summer 2015 collection, Johnny Bigg’s debut range into this new territory draws inspiration from New York, London, Milan and Paris and offers apparel to meet any occasion.”

Hayman explains that Kiwis will benefit from the vast amount of feedback and insight received from customers in Australia. “The spring/summer collection sees the brand offer additional colours, styling, products and fabrications to the existing categories, including increased stretch materials, linens and lightweight knit fabrics.

“This, along with customer demand, has seen the brand expand its sizing range to include a ‘larger tall’ size for the slimmer yet taller guy and increase shoe sizes to now offer up to size 15.

“The Johnny Bigg customer will have access to even more affordable categories, opening up layering options with long sleeved shirts, knits, casual jackets, bombers, winter coats and wool-blend blazers.”

Casual jackets will start at $149.99, dress jackets at $249.99 and knitwear from between $69.99 and $119.99. A range of scarves and winter accessories will add to the layered winter look.

Colours, masculine and monochromatic, range from black, grey and navy with blue to teal, burgundy, plum, and purple.

Accessories are sharp and practical such as reversible belts, shoes in shades of brown and black including leather uppers, ties, bowties and cufflinks.

Setting the tone for this offering, Johnny Bigg’s marketing campaign features “real guy” Jesse, as the face for the season.

According to Hayman, Johnny Bigg is now friends with a range of high profile personalities from the National Rugby League including Manu Vatuvei, Sam Kasiano, Frank Pritchard, Jamal Idris, Marty Kapow, Bryce Cartright, James Graham, Greg Eastwood, George Rose, Dan Hunt, Tariq Sims, Kevin Galloway and John Scandalis as well as TV personalities such as Big T (Australian X factor finalist), Rogue Homme blogger Arrnott Olssen and  Elite IPF powerlifter Cameron McKenzie.
