Foodstuffs’ new man at the helm

Chris QuinFoodstuffs North Island (FSNI) has appointed Spark New Zealand executive Chris Quin as its CEO from September.

FSNI chairman, Peter Anderson, says Quin has the leadership skills and business experience to take the co-op into a new phase of excellence in meeting the needs of New Zealand shoppers.

He will follow on from Murray Jordan, who has been with Foodstuffs for over a decade.

Quin has a 25 year track record in leadership roles, primarily within the IT and telecommunications sector. Since 2012 he has been CEO of the home, business ,and mobile division of Spark NZ. Quin resigned from Spark in January and finishes at the end of June.

He received a Sir Peter Blake Leadership Award in 2010 for his leadership achievements and contribution to the community. He is chair of the business growth hub The Icehouse.

Foodstuffs, part of the group of cooperatives that constitute New Zealand’s biggest supermarket operator and which employs 22,000 people, has 459 New World, Pak’nSave and Four Square stores.
