Payments NZ extends memberships

credit card, spending, chip, paymentPayments NZ has recruited a raft of new members to the organisation.

members now include Paymark, Progressive Enterprises, Rabobank NZ, Foodstuffs, Co-op Money, MasterCard, Semble, Smartpay, S.W.I.F.T. Services Australia, Paystation, and Z Energy.

These members join the wider membership base, which includes 11 direct settlement participants – ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, ICBC, Kiwi, NZ Depository, TSB, and Westpac, says Payments NZ CEO, Steve Wiggins.

“Payments NZ membership helps businesses in New Zealand stay connected, contribute to the development of payments system standards, and stay close to the future strategic direction of the fast moving payments environment,” said Wiggins.

“For us, having members who are close to the action of payments helps ensure that new information and fresh perspectives directly contribute to maintaining safe, efficient, and innovative payments systems.”

“Our three membership types reflect the different kinds of organisations in the payments system, and the part they play in making it work.”

The three structure types encompass infrastructure, standards, and industry.
