Stacks has opened a new Asian grocer and barbecue-style dining precinct at Sylvia Park in Auckland.

The new mixed-use venue is located at the northern end of the shopping centre, alongside an expanding roster of Asian-inspired food and retail offerings. It follows a redevelopment project by Kiwi Property, which involved combining existing tenancies and constructing new back-of-house facilities.

“The energy today has been incredible. We saw queues forming before our doors opened and a constant flow of customers throughout the day,” a spokesperson for Stacks said.

“We created Stacks to offer customers access to authentic products, fresh ingredients and a food experience that reflects the richness and diversity of Asian cultures. Sylvia Park was the ideal location for our flagship destination, and we’re thrilled to officially open our doors.”

Kiwi Property’s GM for income and leasing, Aubrey Cheng, said that Stacks’ arrival responds to changing customer demands at Sylvia Park.

“Auckland’s Asian communities continue to grow and thrive, and our research showed strong customer demand for a high-quality Asian supermarket offering. We’re delighted to partner with Stacks to bring this experience to Sylvia Park,” Cheng added.

Clive Mackenzie, Kiwi Property CEO, said that the new category has “resonated strongly”.
