Topshop opens

Top shop NZNew Zealand’s first Topshop store has opened today on the corner of Auckland’s Queen and Victoria streets.

The new store operates under a licence owned by Karen Walker and Barkers and spans 1300sqm and two levels.

According to Topshop NZ, the store will stock 45,000 items across 2300 styles. Up to 300 new styles a week will be shipped into stores.

Demand for the brand, which has been sold in NZ for five years at Auckland’s The Department Store, is expected to exceed all previous retail openings in the country.

The NZ debut follows on from its Australian launch four years ago. The Australian Topshop licence is held by NextAthleisure, which has since opened five stores, with more in the works.
