Kiwi Income Property Trust and Reading International are going ahead with the development of a new dining and entertainment precinct at Auckland’s LynnMall Shopping Centre in New Lynn.
The cinema will be the first Reading complex in Auckland, with Reading leasing the proposed eight screen complex from Kiwi Income Property Trust.
The development will require a $5 million investment from Reading.
The agreement between the two companies for the $36 million development was reached in 2013.
Scheduled to open in early 2016, the cinema will be the first in New Lynn since 2000.
Reading International manages several brands throughout New Zealand, including Reading, Rialto, Reading Properties, Courtenay Central, Steer n’ Beer restaurants and Taupo Motel.
