Trade Me has appointed Kul Singh Kargil as its new CEO, following the resignation of current CEO Anders Skoe.
Skoe will step down at the end of next month after leading the organisation for seven years, with Singh Kargil taking over mid-month.
Kargil was chief commercial and CMO at Real Estate Australia Group, where he managed commercial divisions alongside audience, branding, customer experience, and marketing strategies.
His prior career spans several senior leadership roles across strategy, sales, and marketing within financial services at GE Capital and healthcare at GlaxoSmithKline.
Trade Me’s chair Owen Wilson noted that Singh Kargil’s operational background and commercial track record align with the company’s long-term strategy as it enters its next growth phase.
Skoe’s departure follows a decision to relocate to Europe to be closer to extended family. He will remain with the organisation through late September to ensure a structured operational handover.
During his seven-year tenure, Skoe oversaw strategic shifts across Trade Me’s digital ecosystem, expanding and strengthening the platform’s core offerings in general marketplace listings, real estate, automotive, and digital classifieds.
Last month, Trade Me signed on to the New Zealand Online Scams Code, supporting the protection of consumers from ‘sophisticated’ scammers across its platform.
