Australian lifestyle brand Oroton will open its first New Zealand store in Auckland later this week.
Set to open its doors at Commercial Bay on Thursday, the store marks the brand’s first expansion outside of Australia since a failed foray into Hong Kong in 2013.
The location offers the label’s accessible luxury products with quality craftsmanship, including leather handbags, accessories, and ready-to-wear apparel.
The space was designed by Oroton creative director Sophie Holt with a focus on New Zealand artistry and craft. It features a warm and material-driven atmosphere with timber, brass, soft leather and light.
Oroton CEO Peter Halkett said the move was a response to the significant number of New Zealand customers shopping in its Australian stores.
“Opening our first store in New Zealand is an exciting milestone for the business, providing the Oroton store experience for our New Zealand customers. We chose Commercial Bay due to its central location, premium brand offering and its connection to the city,” Halkett said.
The brand plans to open several more stores across New Zealand over the next 12 to 24 months.
