British multi-channel retailer JD Sports is set to launch its first South Island location in Christchurch’s CBD in May, marking its sixth local activewear store as part of a growing nationwide chain.

Located on High Street and spanning 512sqm, the Christchurch store features collections of sports and street-style apparel and accessories from brands like Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Asics, and The North Face. During the opening weekend, in-store activities will be held to enhance customers’ shopping experience.

“Globally, JD is known for our unrivalled mix of exclusive footwear and apparel for men, women, and kids – and we can’t wait to share that with the Christchurch community,” said Ben Hapgood, MD of JD Sports New Zealand.

The store is scheduled to open on May 8, with doors opening at 9 am.

“This vibrant city is rich in culture and style, making it the perfect next step for our growth in New Zealand,” said Hapgood. “The opening marks our sixth store nationwide and reinforces our ongoing commitment to delivering world-class retail experiences to Kiwi customers.”
