Wellington City Council has brought together local artists and building owners to launch “Pops of Positive”, an initiative that aims to make empty retail spaces more appealing with artwork.
The initiative features vibrant installations from Martin Basher, Turumeke Harrington, and Hemi Macgregor, displayed at 18, 32, and 34 Manners Street.
Prak Srithan, central city manager of Wellington City Council, said the project hopes to encourage foot traffic and create a sense of positivity and safety in the urban landscape.
“This is our opportunity to bring some positivity to the area while supporting our creative community with these fantastic artworks,” said Srithan.
“A huge thank you to the property owners and agents who have been incredibly cooperative in allowing Pops of Positive to come to life.”
