Takapuna’s retail spending grew by 12.8 per cent or more than $2.1 million year over year in October, credit card spending data has revealed.

Citing Marketview’s data, Takapuna Beach Business Association (TBBA) noted a consecutive monthly spending growth in the region, after posting a 3 per cent increase in September and a 6.3 per cent rise in August.

The association emphasised that both the volume of transactions and the average transaction value increased, reflecting stronger willingness among customers to make a purchase.

So why is Takapuna bucking the trend?

“The latest data is just another reminder that Takapuna is a great place to do business, be in business or invest in,” said Terence Harpur, CEO of TBBA.

“The ongoing investment in our public spaces and infrastructure ensures Takapuna is well-placed to continue this upward trend.”

Currently, Takapuna boasts of over 130 hospitality venues. Recently, a new open-air high street on Hurstmere Road opened along with a new town square, providing a mix of shopping and dining experience and access to over 4000 parking spaces.
