Foodstuffs North Island is launching a new online grocery picking service through a partnership with Transcend Retail Solutions, Tesco’s e-commerce consultancy business.
The companies claim that the partnership will provide a more efficient and accurate picking solution that improves the use of the store’s warehouse space.
It is expected that the initiative will help Foodstuffs better service its customers and expand its online business more rapidly.
Foodstuffs North Island currently operates the new service in two stores, under the banners of Pak’nSave and New World, and intends to roll it out to all its stores in the coming months.
“We aspire to be one of the most customer-driven retailers in the world and that means having a world-class online business, which is why we’re proud to be collaborating with the team at Transcend,” said Chris Quin, Foodstuffs North Island CEO.
“They have a quarter of a century of Tesco experience, and we’re excited about the benefits we’re expecting to deliver to the 2.7 million customer visits we have in our stores and online each week.”
