WestCity Waitakere Shopping Centre in Henderson, Auckland will be managed by Savills New Zealand following its appointment by private investment firm DiMauro Group.

The shopping centre is home to 109 stores including a Countdown supermarket, an Event cinema, Farmers and The Warehouse department stores, and various food, fashion, and service shops.

The shopping centre also has several key initiatives to engage with the local community, such as Little Westies sessions for children under five and Westie Wanderers Walking Group meetings for adults aged 65 and over.

“This collaborative partnership promises an exciting era of revitalisation for the centre, bringing a host of fresh innovations along with the addition of new retailers to enhance the overall shopping experience,” said Timothy Lubeck, director of retail leasing and asset management for DiMauro Group’s three shopping centres in New Zealand.

“I love the heart and community in West Auckland and see this area as having a huge amount of potential and opportunity. Henderson can be improved in a well-thought-out and authentic way that celebrates the people, nature, and history of this location,” centre manager Larissa Keil said.

The shopping centre will celebrate its 50th anniversary in October next year with planned activities including storytelling from previous customers and staff.
