Inside Retail has launched in the United States – taking the 52-year-old trade industry publication into the realms of a global publisher of retail news and insights.
Inside Retail US went live this week joining the original Inside Retail Australia, along with the 13-year-old Asia site and a dedicated New Zealand site.
Amie Larter, CEO of Inside Retail’s publisher, Sydney-based Octomedia, said the US foray has been in planning for many years, with the expansion partly fuelled by significant traffic to the existing sites from North America.
Ahead of this week’s launch, Octomedia has been aggregating content and uploading news as it happens which means from this week, readers can access 1000s of news and feature articles of relevance to the North American market.
Key hires have expanded Inside Retail’s international news and features team across the world, including New York-based US features editor Nicole Kirichanskaya. Before joining Octomedia, Kirichanskaya wrote for various industry and consumer publications, specialising in retail and beauty. She reports to Inside Retail’s managing editor, premium, Heather McIlvaine, who will oversee the deep-dive features and analysis behind the paywall.
An expanded news team based in five cities across the world will continue to be led by Vietnam-based Robert Stockdill who steps up to the role of global head of news. With more than 30 years of experience as a journalist, editor, and former publisher across five different countries, Stockdill has travelled on numerous retail study tours across Europe, Asia, and the US.
The site launches with both free-to-read news content and paywalled features including retail executive interviews and analyses of topical industry issues.
“We take immense pride in being the go-to source for both local and global retail news and insights,” explains Larter. “We are delivering seriously interesting, must-know content straight to the screen of readers across the US and beyond.
“With a proven track record of providing valuable industry knowledge and analysis across the Apac region, Inside Retail is poised to become an invaluable resource for retailers, professionals, and consumers in the US.”
