Fiji’s Optique Eyecare has opened a boutique clinic at Auckland’s Glenfield Mall on the North Shore, marking its expansion into New Zealand.

Co-founders and optometrists Namita Kulhalli and Sashi Singh opened their first practice in 2017 in Fiji after noticing a “gap” in the market.

The company says it aims to bridge the gap between premium eye care services and affordable designer eyewear.

“We have often found that the price tag that comes along with eyewear in general is not necessarily affordable and accessible to everyone,” said co-found Kulhalli.

“Our focus is on making eye care accessible in a mall setting but at the same time providing a boutique experience and getting to really know our customers.”

The boutique also offers international eyewear brands such as Ray-Ban, Dolce & Gabbana, Oakley, Prada and Bulgari as well as their own-brand frames.
