Christchurch’s The Palms Shopping Centre has revealed a refreshed management team with Keryn Ward appointed as centre manager and Claudine Pausma as marketing manager.

Earlier this year, Savills New Zealand took over management of the centre after it was acquired by Adelaide-based private investment firm, DiMauro Group.

Keryn Ward managed the centre from 2007 to 2012, returning to New Zealand from Sydney during the pandemic amid a time of retail uncertainty.

“I am delighted to be back under a new owner and manager who have a shared vision for how the centre can evolve to serve our diverse and growing community, which is evident in the calibre of new tenants to the centre, including Chemist Warehouse, The Oasis and Connor,” said Ward.

Likewise, Pausma brings her expertise from specialised marketing agencies in Auckland and Christchurch, helping launch the centre’s first TikTok channel in May, which has received a positive response from the community.

“We had great success with a post featuring two well-known personalities at The Palms, who used Gen Z language to captivate the audience. The post went viral, achieving 293,900 views, 33,400 likes, and 781 comments,” said Pausma.
