Inside Retail has announced this year’s finalists for the upcoming Retailer Awards presented by Commonwealth Bank, which will see finalists invited to a celebration in Melbourne while the awards ceremony will be livestreamed for all to see.
Judges this year include Inside Retail editor Jo-Anne Hui-Miller and head of news Robert Stockdill, as well as CommBank’s national retail manager Jerry Macey, The Growth Activists’ Rosanna Iacono, Swinburne University’s Dr Jason Pallant, and Macquarie University’s associate professor Jana Bowden.
Stockdill said the standard of entries was very high this year and reflected how the Australian and New Zealand retail industry had been resolute and innovative in adapting to the massive challenges forced by the arrival of Covid-19.
“Retailers of all sizes across all categories have had to adapt to new consumer behaviours, changing personal priorities, and problems with traditional supply chains as the pandemic ushered in an era of working from home and lockdowns prevented people from shopping in physical stores. But they have risen to the challenge and those who were quick to adapt have prospered. Some of them will be recognised in this year’s awards,” he said.
