Centrapay has signed a three-year partnership with Epay New Zealand to process the latter’s Gift Station digital gift cards.

Gift Station consumers now can store their epay digital gift cards in their Sylo Smart Wallet and make payments by using a QR code on Windcave and Verifone payment terminals. They will also be able to transfer gift cards via the Sylo app.

The company sees the tie-up as a way to resolve four of the most common problems with gift cards: lost, left at home, expiring, and unknown balance.

“We see this as part of a growing shift from using physical cards and touching eftpos devices to a fully contactless experience,” said Roger Smith, country manager at Epay New Zealand.

The Gift Station digital gift cards are expected to be live in time for the festive season in December.

“The fact that Epay has selected Centrapay as its digital payment partner, shows that the company shares our vision for how businesses and consumers will connect, engage and pay in the future,” said Jerome Faury, CEO at Centrapay.
