Mitre 10 Gisborne to open on December 20

Mitre 10 Gisborne will open its doors Friday, December 20, after 10 months of construction.

The 5500sqm store, set on a 1.55-hectare site, will have an extensive range of home improvement products, a large trade offer with drive through, a 1000sqm garden centre, a Columbus Café and playground for families.

The store, which would include about 56,000 products, has a 2400sqm retail area that will feature dedicated kitchen and bathroom showrooms.

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming the local community into our new store and getting stuck into supporting our customers with their home improvement projects every day of the week,” said store owner-operator Geoff Taylor.

Mitre 10 Gisborne will be the 84th store in the Mitre 10 New Zealand co-operative, bringing back the brand to Gisborne after 10 years.

More than $10 million has been invested in the construction of the property on Derby Street.

The store has already been involved in several community initiatives including fundraising for Gisborne Hospice and Alzheimer’s Gisborne. The known Mitre 10 community BBQ is also available for charitable fundraising.
