Hardware chain Mitre 10 will open a new Beachland Junction store on Thursday.
The new 1500sqm store will feature a 1100sqm retail area, a 330sqm garden centre, kitchen and bathroom displays, colour centre, 53 carparks and a drive through servicing area.
The new store is part of an expansion planned by Hammer Hardware owner Mathew Huggins.
“It’s been a two to three-year business goal to advance the business from a Hammer Hardware to a Mitre 10 store,” Huggins said. “I’m really looking forward to the new challenge.”
The current Hammer Hardware site on Bell Road will re-brand and become a dedicated location for trade, building and landscaping supplies, as well as equipment hire.
The expansion across the two sites has seen Huggins’ team grow by 15 team members.
To celebrate the opening of the new store, a community fundraiser sausage sizzle and special offers have been planned for visitors of the site and will include a bouncy castle.
On opening weekend, all the proceeds from the sausage sizzle will go to local schools.
