Shop for Change launches this March 8 for International Women’s Day

Innovative tech start-up, i=Change, is launching Shop for Change this International Women’s Day (IWD), to accelerate change for women and girls, by using retail as a force for good.

For the 24hrs over IWD, Shop for Change will see select i=Change retail partners donate $5 from every purchase (increased from $1) to women and girls’ empowerment projects in Australia and 13 countries.

As retailers are increasingly looking to build a ‘purpose beyond product’ into their brands, this is the first Australian retail event linked to a global day of awareness for women and girls, enabling Australians to Shop for Change this International Women’s Day.

i=Change has already raised over $1 million and counting, powered by retailers such as Pandora Jewellery, Camilla and Nobody Denim. This has been achieved by brands committing $1 from every sale, allowing their customers to choose where it goes, and transparently tracking the impact in real-time. (i=Change donates 100% of funds raised).

There are two launch events on March 7 for retailers and media to attend:

• Dropbox is hosting a breakfast at their office (Sydney 7:30am)
• i=Change is hosting a VAMFF event (Melbourne 6:30pm)

About i=Change

i=Change makes it simple for online retailers to give back with 100% transparency. Consumers shop as usual on the retailer’s site, then choose where to send the retailer’s donation after checkout, to 1 of 3 empowerment projects.

In partnership with iconic brands, with a focus on empowering women and girls, $1 million raised and counting has already impacted the lives of over 257,850 people in 14 countries.

“International Women’s Day has always been a day to acknowledge both the progress and significant challenges still facing women and girls globally. We wanted to create a way Australians could engage and shop for change, to raise much needed funds to meaningfully impact these
issues.”
