Duffle & Co’s investment in sustainability has paid off, with the local brand announcing this week that it has achieved climate positive accreditation.

The retailer is the second company in New Zealand to acquire this status, which means it proved that it has offset 120 per cent of its carbon footprint across all business operations for the 2018 financial year.

“From buying materials to typing on laptops, every emission the business created was calculated,” the company said.

“Actions were then taken to reduce, reverse and then offset those emissions, then analysed and recognised with EKOS certified carbon credits.”

According to Duffle & Co, 66 per cent of global consumers are willing to pay more for goods from companies that are committed to sustainability.

“With this certification we want to show that it is possible to use a business model to create positive environmental and social change,” said Danny Pritchard, co-founder of Duffle & Co.
