Lagardere extends partnership with Christchurch Airport

SunglassHut-ChristchurchAirportTravel retailer, Lagardère Travel Retail, has renewed its contract with Christchurch Airport for its three Relay stores, and has added two concepts, tech2go and Sunglass Hut.

The agreement covers both the domestic and international terminals.

The Relay stores, which offer travel essential requirements, including books, news, confectionery and travel accessories, as well as Lotto and NZ Postal services for both customers and airport community alike, will all undergo a refresh over the next 12 months.

Matthieu Mercier, CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail in the Pacific Region, said the partnership with Christchurch Airport has been extremely successful since 2011.

“To renew our well known Relay brand, as well as bring exciting new concepts to Christchurch Airport, will offer passengers access to innovative new retail offers, world class brands and award winning customer service,” he said.

The 40sqm tech2go airport store, the second standalone tech2go store in New Zealand which will feature a range of the latest on-trend technology and accessories, will be home to some of the biggest brands in the industry including Sennheiser, Audio Technica, Philips, Plantronics and Cygnett.

Sunglass Hut, set in a 40sqm standalone store, will join the other concepts. The store will offer a range of eyewear such as Ray-Ban, Oakley, Tiffany, Michael Kors and Tom Ford.

“Our team is excited to see the stores open,” said Christchurch Airport’s manager Terminal Customer Experience, Craig Dunstan. “Their modern, innovative fit out and offering is outstanding and further enhances our retail offering. The feedback received to date has been excellent and leaves us in no doubt that the stores will be very popular with the millions of visitors we welcome to the terminal every year.”
