Outdoor clothing retailer, Kathmandu, has appointed Stephen Domancie as its new general manager for retail stores and operations following the announcement that Alison Evans, general manager retail – stores Australia and New Zealand, is leaving the company.
Domancie joined Kathmandu in 2015 following senior retail leadership roles for Sportsman Warehouse (South Africa), adidas and Puma Australia.
“I want to thank Alison for her contribution to the business and we wish Alison every success in the future,” said Xavier Ximonet, CEO, Kathmandu.
The Christchurch-based retailer previously stated it is expecting a full year profit of NZ$32.0 million to NZ$35.0 million (A$30.57 million-A$33.44 million), up from the previous year’s $20.4 million as the company boosts margins from new products, better management of promotional activity and cost savings.
The company is estimating an EBIT of $49.0 million to $53.0 million, up from last year’s $33.2 million.
“Despite the winter season starting late this year, product newness and careful management of promotional activity have resulted in a better than expected gross margin,” Simonet said.
