The later part of 2016 will be a busy one for Auckland as it welcomes international clothing retail giants Zara and H&M, and renowned US retail jewellery chain, Tiffany & Co.
Although an exact date hasn’t been announced yet, the Kiwi Property Group, H&M and Tiffany have all mentioned the stores will be opened later this year.
The Zara and H&M brands will open stores at the Sylvia Park Mall in Auckland and Tiffany & Co will open at the ground floor of Australis House at 36-38 Customs Street East.
Kiwi Property Group’s Chris Gudgeon said, “the excitement is building” for their Sylvia Park Shoppers.
Gudgeon said they, “are firm believers in investing in Auckland’s growth” and bringing Zara and H&M to Sylvia Park is, “part of our plan to create a truly world-class retail offer in an increasingly world-class city”.
These will be Zara’s and H&M’s first stores in New Zealand.
Kiwi Property will invest $11.5 million to accommodate Zara in a new ground level store located in the mid-mall area of the shopping centre.
Glen Schlehuber, Tiffany’s Australian vice president and managing director, said bringing Tiffany & Co. to New Zealand will bring a, “new level of luxury jewellery to Auckland”. The NZ store will be selling items by famous designer Paloma Picasso, among others.
Schlehuber said Tiffany & Co. has been “looking to establish a presence” in New Zealand for some time as they have “many loyal Tiffany customers” from the country.
Auckland will be Tiffany’s first company-operated retail presence in New Zealand.
