Ben & Jerry’s comes to Kiwi land

Ben & Jerry'sBen & Jerry’s iconic ice cream will be accessible to Kiwis from central Auckland from December onwards. This follows its launch in Australia in September 2009.

This bodes well for Kiwis who are known for their ever increasing love of of ice cream, which has even manifested in a movement away from everyday ice cream to luxury brands for home eating.

Ben & Jerry’s exotic flavours, numbered eighteen, include Strawberry Cheesecake, Chunky Monkey, Choc Chip Cookie Dough, and Phish Food.

The names themselves point to the quirky and creative bent of Ben & Jerry’s that should indeed appeal to today’s selfie-orientated consumers who want to be engaged and inspired.

Ice cream tubs, frozen yoghurt and sorbet will also be on sale.

Ben & Jerry’s location in Auckland is rumoured to be 160 Ponsonby Rd, which no doubt will pose some degree of brand rivalry given the other ice cream vendors in the area.

The company was founded in 1978 from a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont.
