A fire at a Wellington shopping centre is being treated as suspicious, with fire overnight the third at the centre.

The latest fire at Karori Shopping Mall began in a shopping trolley in the car park. While no one was injured, the fire has caused major damage to the car park, resulting in its closure today.

Around 30 firefighters are said to have battled the blaze, which broke out around midnight.

Despite the car park’s closure, all stores at Karori Shopping Mall remain open.
