Plans in place for Rotorua’s Lynmore Junction

Artists impression by RCG 2014_1, 409Rotorua is planning for Lynmore Junction, an all weather retail and entertainment centre located on Te Ngae Road.

Completion of the project is expected in early 2016.

The development will incorporate ‘Zone Play Rotorua’, which will include a range of entertainment facilities such as 7D cinema, ten pin bowling, trampoline parks and laser strike.

A range of retail and food to go experiences will support the entertainment offering.

Stage 1 will include a service station and a fast food/drive through operation, and Zone Play Rotorua.

Stage 2 will include convenience retail and a supermarket.

Ryan Holmes, Holmes Group director, said that currently Rotorua lacks depth in true entertainment facilities to cater for the local and visitor market.

“Zone Play Rotorua will fill that need,” he said.

The site also provides a high level of traffic exposure, with easy access from neighbouring Tauranga, Whakatane, and Taupo, as well as local visitors.

The family friendly centre will offer sheltered shopfronts, ample free parking, and energetic, playful architecture and graphics.

“We are very excited about this development and the opportunity it brings to Rotorua” Holmes said.

RCG is driving the development, and the company expects that the development will be secured to a high level of leasing commitment by March 2015.

Over the past four months, Desmond Wai, RCG director said that, in collaboration with Paul Sanford of NAI Harcourts Rotorua, has been in discussion with potential tenants.

Over the past four months, RCG, in collaboration with Paul Sanford of NAI Harcourts Rotorua, has been in discussion with potential tenants, Desmond Wai, RCG director, said.

“We have been very focussed as to the type of leisure and retail activity that we are seeking and we are determined to make this as successful as other developments we have been involved with in the Bay of Plenty” he said.

Wai said that further details on the list of retailers and entertainment operators likely to occupy Zone Play Rotorua will be released prior the development commencing.

He said that there will be a careful mix of retail in addition to the entertainment and leisure category.
