Restaurant Brands is the first company in New Zealand to offer wi-fi connected terminals at all drive through service windows.
Verifone has completed the rollout of the VX Evolution, the company’s contactless and NFC-enabled payment terminals, to Restaurant Brands’ 174 stores nationwide.
The rollout is the result of a collaboration between Verifone and partner Lexel Systems.
With the VX Evolution series, Restaurant Brands offers improved electronic payments acceptance capabilities, delivering faster service at front counters and drive through windows of its KFC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks Coffee, and Carl’s Jr stores.
Restaurant Brands has interfaced all of Verifone’s terminals with its point of sale systems, providing wi-fi connected terminals at drive through service windows.
The terminals also enhance payment security, and are able to engage customers via colour touch screens that display custom graphics and content.
Geoff Holton, Restaurant Brands GM of information services, said that Lexel, who the company has a strong relationship with, and Verifone, one of the leading Eftpos suppliers in the world, are a perfect fit for the fast food retailer.
“They worked closely together to create a bespoke solution for us to maximise the robustness of the wi-fi terminal used in our drive through environment. Verifone terminals give us the speed, simplicity, and the ability to accept Tap and Go contactless and NFC-based payments.”
